The CFO at Happy Mammoth will be a strategic financial leader, responsible for driving profitability, financial scalability, and business growth in a high-performance, data-driven environment. As a key member of the executive team, the CFO will oversee all financial strategy, forecasting, risk management, and capital allocation, ensuring the company is positioned for sustainable expansion.





This role requires a proactive, hands-on finance leader with experience in eCommerce, DTC brands, or CPG who understands scaling financial operations, managing cash flow, and optimizing profitability in a digital-first business model.

This is a full-time fully remote contractor role.

We are seeking someone preferably with a background in B2C marketing.

Although the role is remote, the candidate must be available during EU hours (GMT).

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Strategy & Business Growth: Define and implement a long-term financial roadmap to support company growth and international expansion. Provide financial leadership to the CEO, executive team, and investors, ensuring data-driven decisions that drive profitability. Oversee P&L; management, gross margin optimization, and cost efficiencies across all business units. Lead financial planning for new market entries, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.
2. Financial Planning, Budgeting & Profitability Optimization:



Own the financial planning and analysis (FP&A;) function, ensuring accurate budgeting and forecasting. Develop KPIs to track financial health, including revenue growth, LTV/CAC ratios, and ROI on marketing spend. Work with the Marketing Team to ensure profitable customer acquisition strategies. Implement financial automation tools to improve reporting, forecasting, and decision-making.
3. Capital Management & Investor Relations: Manage fundraising efforts, including equity, debt financing, and investor relations. Optimize capital allocation and cash flow management, ensuring sustainable scaling. Develop financial models to support investment decisions and company valuations. Act as the primary financial spokesperson for investors, banks, and stakeholders.
4. Financial Operations, Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS, tax regulations,



and local/international financial laws. Oversee audit, risk management, and financial governance. Implement internal financial controls, SOPs, and fraud prevention strategies. Ensure operational efficiency by collaborating with supply chain, logistics, and finance teams.
5. Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build and lead a high-performing finance team, including the Financial Controller and analysts. Work closely with the Marketing Team to analyze customer acquisition costs, pricing strategies, and promotional ROI. Partner with the Operations Team to optimize supply chain costs, vendor negotiations, and inventory management. Support the Product Development Team by ensuring profitability in product pricing, COGS management, and margin analysis.

Qualifications:

1. 10+ years of financial leadership experience,



preferably in eCommerce, CPG, DTC brands, or high-growth startups.
2. Proven experience in scaling financial operations, P&L; management, and revenue growth strategies.
3. Deep understanding of eCommerce financial metrics (CAC, LTV, ad spend attribution, conversion rates, and churn).
4. Experience with financial reporting tools, ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks), and data analytics tools.
5. Ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business strategy.
6. Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills, with experience working with CEOs, investors, and cross-functional teams.
