About this position
Location: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay or Uruguay
We are looking for a Senior Associate / Associate Investment Management Officer professional for the Infrastructure and Energy Division (IEN) of the Investment Operations Department (INO) of IDB Invest.
INO is responsible for clients and partners’ engagement for the origination, structuring, closing and supervision of transactions and projects that meet our requirements. Our Infrastructure and Energy Division covers the Transport, Water and Sanitation, Energy and Social Infrastructure (Education & Health) sectors and is organized under three regions. One of these regions is the Southern Cone (CSC) and the team is responsible for developing new business opportunities and delivering IDB Invest business plan in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay or Uruguay.
What you will do:
1. Deal Origination and Execution: Support senior team members in identifying and evaluating potential investment opportunities, assist in the due diligence process, conduct thorough research and analysis to assess feasibility and risks, and contribute to the preparation and review of transaction documents.
2. Collaboration and Teamwork: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams across IDB Invest, foster a team-oriented environment, collaborate with IDB experts, and support the Portfolio Management Division as needed.

Financial Analysis and Modeling: Conduct in-depth financial analysis and build sophisticated financial models to support investment decisions.
4. Client Presentations and Communication: Prepare client presentations and engage in client interactions to address needs and provide strategic advice.
5. Market Research and Industry Analysis: Stay abreast of market trends and conduct thorough research on specific sectors and companies.
6. Project Management: Effectively manage multiple tasks and deadlines associated with various projects.
7. Continuous Learning and Development: Seek opportunities for professional development and contribute to the development of junior team members.
8. Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, investors, and stakeholders.
Education: You hold a Master’s, MBA,
or equivalent in Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, and/or other relevant fields. Academic specialization in infrastructure development and/or transaction management is desirable.
Experience: You have at least 2+ years of relevant professional experience in loan origination, structuring structured finance (project finance) or corporate finance transactions. Confirmed experience in a similar role in an investment or advisory firm, bank or infrastructure company would be desirable.
