Heidelberg Materials Australia seeking an enthusiastic, professional and innovative Operations Manager – Aggregate Supply Chain to join our Quarry and Aggregate Logistics Team throughout the Greater Sydney and Central Coast regions of NSW.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, in this role you will work in collaboration with concrete operations, technical and sales functions to ensure that the entire supply chain is working safely and efficiently to service both internal and external customers for the region.

A fully maintained company vehicle will be provided, and this role will require travel throughout sites within the region as required.
About the role:
As the Operations Manager – Aggregate Supply Chain, you will be responsible for managing safe and cost-effective operations and fleet while understanding and being aware of the operational needs and challenges across the entire area of responsibility.
In your new role you will:
- Lead the Aggregate Logistics team in:
- Compliance to NHVR / NHVAS as well as the Company’s safe systems of work,
- Strategic management of assets including fleet structure availability and performance,
- Day-to-day management of the fleet including the preparation of and managing costs within an agreed budget.
- Support the Supply Chain Manager and Quarry Teams in:
- A material strategy that balances quarry availability versus internal demand and customer demand,
- Highlighting capital expenditure requirements and prepare capital applications,
- Efficient day-to-day management of the operations in the area including the preparation of and managing costs within an agreed budget,
- Continuous improvement initiatives and site specific projects.
- Support the Zero Harm philosophy of Heidelberg Materials Australia and promote safety and environmental initiatives by:
- Ensuring all plant and equipment comply with OHS/WHS legislative requirements and ensure all personnel are aware and comply with relevant OHS/WHS legislation.
- Ensuring plant is operated and maintained in accordance with the site Environmental requirements. Ensure all personnel are aware and comply with relevant environmental legislation and site-specific aspects.
- Complying with the Integrated Risk Management System (IRMS) requirements including all Company Policies, Life Saving Rules, Directives,
Work Methods, etc.
This will be a great fit for you, if:
- You hold a current car licence and are able to travel for work as required.
- You show demonstrate extensive experience in heavy vehicle transport and/or quarry operations (ideally both) including in leadership roles.
- You hold qualifications in Engineering or related field (highly regarded).
- You have a thorough understanding of relevant state and national HSEQ standards.
- You display excellent leadership skills and behaviours, with an ability to support, inspire and drive your teams to success.
- You demonstrate will-developed forward planning, analytical and strategic thinking skills while maintaining a Continuous Improvement approach.
- You have a high level of resilience and adaptability to changing situations
- You are a team player who can multi-task and make quick effective decisions under pressure
- You have a positive presence in building strong and effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- You have strong computer literacy and understanding of budget management
