Job Description
Our data team has expertise across engineering, analysis, architecture, modeling, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data science.
This discipline is responsible for transforming raw data into actionable insights, building robust data infrastructures, and enabling data-driven decision-making and innovation through advanced analytics and predictive modeling.
As a Head of Data & AI at Endava, you will drive our organization's data and AI strategy, leading cutting-edge initiatives for our clients that transform their business through advanced analytics and artificial intelligence.
- Grow the regional data capability to successfully deliver projects in all data related areas (data engineering, data architecture, data science, data analysis)
- Contributing to mentoring, leading, and hiring data scientists, machine learning & data engineers, AI specialists, data analysts, and/or data architects as needed.
- Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of advanced analytics and AI solutions for clients
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize high-impact data and AI client projects
- Participate in and contribute to client discovery calls, pre-sales, and proposal development
- Ensure the ethical use of AI and adherence to data governance and compliance standards
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in data science and AI
- Present insights and recommendations to executive leadership to drive data-informed decision-making
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the data and AI team
- Develop and implement best practices for data management, quality, and security
Qualifications
- Educational background in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field (Master's degree or Ph.D. preferred but not required)
- 10+ years of experience in one or more of the following: data science, data analysis, data architecture, data engineering.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and implementing large-scale data and AI projects
- Advanced knowledge of data analytics, machine learning, and AI technologies
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R
- Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop and Spark
- Strong project management skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Deep understanding of AI ethics and responsible AI practices
- Knowledge of data governance and compliance regulations
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Machine Learning Specialty, Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer) are a plus
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and collaborate with global teams
- Willingness to travel occasionally for business purposes
