About the team / Brand / Line of Business
The North America Commercial Finance team strives to provide best-in-class deal support and business partnership with the North America Sales organization. The Commercial Finance Specialist (Revenue Recognition) acts as business partner, supporting the Field / Business (Cloud Sales, Software/Maintenance sales and Services Sales):
1. Responsible to secure compliance to revenue recognition standards (SAP internal revenue recognition policies and International Accounting standards) and address accounting issues.
2. Proactive engagement in structuring and engineering of commercial proposals and contractual documents,
in advance of deal closing, through close collaboration with the other Deal Support community members.
3. Review deal approvals and ensure alignment with different stakeholders and approvers on revenue recognition issues.
4. Responsible for keeping up to date with SAP internal revenue recognition policies and for enablement on revenue recognition matters into the business and other Deal Support functions.
5. Participate in the monthly/ quarterly close process in working with Shared Delivery Hubs, Revenue COE Teams, Bookings Teams, Controllers and Local Chief Accountants to ensure accurate revenue recognition in Revenue Accounting Tool.
6. Preparation of accounting memorandums on complex and large transactions.
7. Support Corporate Audit, SOX, Compliance Teams in internal audit and compliance queries.
8. Develop a strong, collaborative relationship with the stakeholders both within and outside Finance in Market Units, Region and Global.
Experience & Educational Requirements
1. Good knowledge in Accounting & Revenue Recognition and at least 2 of the following functional topics:

Financial Analysis
2. Pricing
3. Contracting
4. Quote Support
5. Legal
6. Deal structuring
1. Education and Professional Experience
1. 3.1 University Degree in Accountancy / Business or Economics
2. 3.2 Chartered Accountant preferred
3. 3.3 At least 3 years' experience in the big four audit firms, finance or commercial areas with a proven performance track record
4. Fluent written and spoken language skills English
5. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
6. Self-motivated
7. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
8. Flexible/Agile
9. Strong team player, proactive and service oriented
10. Excellent written and interpersonal, and communication skills
11. Ability to work under time pressure and deadlines, while managing multiple tasks and projects
